The easiest level. You subtract small numbers (up to 5). |

A wider range of numbers to subtract (up to 10). |

Level 3 | 13-1=12 15-2=13 |
You subtract a 1-digit number from a low 2-digit number. |

Level 4 | 30-25=5 17-15=2 |
You subtract two low 2-digit numbers. Typically, you won't need borrowing. |

Level 5 | 21-8=13 29-19=9 |
Here you subtract primarily 2-digit numbers.
You will often need to use borrowing. |

Level 6 | 55-19=36 43-16=27 |
At level 6, you subtract somewhat larger 2-digit numbers. |

Level 7 | 75-29=46 72-19=53 |
At level 7, you subtract even larger 2-digit numbers. |

Level 8 | 527-86=441 354-99=255 |
Here you subtract a 2-digit number from a 3-digit number. |

Level 9 | 819-76=743 729-119=610 |
Similar to Level 8, but the numbers get larger. Sometimes, you subtract 3-digit numbers. |

At the last level, you subtract 3-digit numbers. |
